Just a Thought

Young people, by nature, explore and take risks. Our purpose in designing 4YouthToday.com is to provide a safety zone within which they can explore the World Wide Web with the minimum amount of harm that is possible. In setting out to achieve this objective, we have, behind the scenes, selected links already screened and approved by responsible and trustworthy organisations.

Where there have been exceptions to this procedure, we have assessed the sites ourselves so as to sift out any links, (however indirect or remote), in so far as we could ascertain, where we suspected material containing:

• extreme violence;
• pornography;
• or any site of doubtful origin.

In order to maintain the standards we have set, we carry out regular checks and enquiries.

We do not necessarily agree with everything presented on the web sites, in much the same way that we do not necessarily agree with opinions expressed in any book from a library. However, if material is relevant, appropriate, and presented responsibly, we include it so that families can exercise their right of choice.

We try to include material from each of the English speaking countries. Progressively we hope to extend this so that all are represented. One of the many advantages of the Internet is having increased contribution from many countries.
